Rob Cheek is the President and Qualified Manager of Cheek and Company, Inc., whose offices are located Covina, a suburb of Los Angeles, California.
Rob has more than three decades devoted to the aviation insurance industry. He left his position as Vice President and Claims Manager of the Los Angeles office of United States Aviation Underwriters, Inc., managers of the United States Aircraft Group (USAU/USAIG) to start Cheek and Company.
His investigation and insurance claims background began in 1978 as a multi-line claims insurance adjuster. A few years later he began handling aircraft hull and liability claims for both the London and the domestic aviation insurance market. In the 1990’s he ran Citrus Investigation and Adjustment Co, a multi-line claims and investigation business that specialized in aviation. At USAU he handled all manner of aviation claims from small general aviation losses to large industrial aid and airline claims. His work included supervision of litigated claims and he was in charge of subrogation on the west coast.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps as a mechanic and crewmember on C-130 and C-131 (Convair 440) aircraft, he received his undergraduate degree from Mt. San Antonio College. Rob is a commercial pilot with the ratings of airplane single and multi engine land and instrument airplane. He holds an FAA mechanic’s certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings. And, he is licensed in the state of California as a private investigator and independent insurance adjuster (he also holds non-resident adjuster licenses in nine western states—including Hawaii).
